Hey There! Meet Our Team.
Owner & Operator
James is the owner and operator of Designer Cabinetry and has been a cabinet maker for over 20 years. James took a break from his trade to work at Southern Rural Water, however, Jim has still been cabinet making, building kitchens and different jobs for friends and family. With a strong reputation for quality and attention to detail, Jim could not keep up with the growing demand for his work so he decided to leave SRW and open his own business. James is usually better known as "Thunder" from his days of playing football for Maffra. A loyal Carlton supporter, Jim loves his football and spends most of his leisure time watching the footy, socialising with friends or out and about with kids Sienna and Levi and wife Sera. Often Jim can be found in the afternoon in his shed at home, working on his next woodworking project.
Owner & Operator
Sera is James wife and has completed her interior design studies at the Mercer School of Interior Design in Collingwood, Melbourne, to complement the business and assist clients with knowledge and advice with design, material and colour choices. Sera understands that this aspect of the building process is often stressful and overwhelming for people and finds assisting and guiding clients to achieve their personal style so rewarding. Sera loves holidaying with family in Noosa QLD, swimming, reading and spending time with her young family. As a keen Essendon supporter Sera loves watching her team thrash it out against the Blues!
Senior Cabinet Maker
Stuart started with Designer Cabinetry in February 2018. His attention to detail and quality of work is really second to none. Stu is married to the lovely Fiona and they have three gorgeous young boys. Cabinetmaking for 15 years plus, Stu is a great addition to the Designer Cabinetry family! Our clients always comment on how polite and courteous our guys are and Stu is definitely one of the reasons for this.
First Year Apprentice
Ricky Zabaneh is our second year apprentice. Ricky is a Heyfield local and loves living and working in this beautiful part of Gippsland. Always wanting to undertake a trade growing up, Ricky has become a hard working and enthusiastic part of the Designer Cabinetry family. Ricky is a keen Melbourne AFL supporter and he also learns and trains in mixed martial arts, so we don't give him too much stick when the Demons loose! With his positive demeanour and great sense of humour, we all enjoy working with Ricky and are excited to continue watching him grow into a qualified and talented tradesman.
